"In 15 years most ultra-Orthodox will learn math and English, by choice" Says Dr. Nechumi Yaffe of TAU. Born and raised in the ultra-orthodox community, Dr. Yaffe’s academic journey is fantastic and inspiring. Now she is trying to reform ultra-Orthodox society from within and believes that a balancing formula can be found within the polemic. "But the mainstream will not mobilize end masse for combat service, it is in contrast to their core belief”. She clarifies: "The ultra-Orthodox DNA is characterized by giving a large place to God in a way that people perceive as irresponsibility. They are not parasites; this is their worldview”. Dr. Yaffe is featured in our new episode where host Ido Aharoni is asking her about her own personal life, academic research and vision for the integration of the ultra-orthodox community into the general society.
